For our client, an international company with a strong position in the optical industry, we – tHRee – are looking for a General Ledger Accountant for the site in Sint-Agatha-Berchem.

In this role, you take a central position within the finance team and are responsible for the full GL scope. You will work in an international environment where processes are structured and reporting closely follows group guidelines.
Your Responsibilities
Manage the General Ledger
Prepare and perform monthly, quarterly and annual closings
Analyse balance sheet and P&L accounts
Process and control provisions, accruals and intercompany transactions
Prepare VAT returns and other tax obligations
Act as a key contact for audit preparation
Monitor and improve accounting processes and internal controls
Collaborate with the Shared Service Center and international finance teams
Support management reporting and financial analysis
You combine strong technical accounting knowledge with analytical insight to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Your Profile
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Tax or Economics
Around 5 years of experience in a GL or closing-oriented accounting role
Strong knowledge of Belgian accounting legislation and VAT
Experience with monthly and annual closings
Analytical mindset and strong numerical accuracy
Proactive and structured working style
Good knowledge of Excel and ERP systems
Professional knowledge of Dutch and French
Good command of English in an international environment
